This Privacy Policy explains how Tzedakah Shelf, operated by Jewish Concord Inc., handles information when you use the Tzedakah Shelf mobile application and related services.
Information the app may handle
Depending on the features you use, Tzedakah Shelf may handle the following categories of information:
- Information you choose to enter, such as charity names, giving amounts, preferences, schedules, or other settings used to personalize your virtual tzedakah boxes.
- App activity and usage information, such as interactions with app features, giving actions recorded in the app, and general usage statistics used to understand and improve the service.
- Technical and diagnostic information, such as app version, device or operating-system information, crash information, and similar technical data needed for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.
How information is used
We use information handled by Tzedakah Shelf to provide and maintain app features, remember your settings, help users track and build a habit of giving, improve app performance and usability, understand how features are used, prevent abuse, and protect the security and reliability of the service.
Donations and payment information
Tzedakah Shelf may direct you to a charity or third-party donation or payment service when you choose to send funds. Payment-card, bank, wallet, or other payment credentials submitted directly to those third-party services are handled under their own privacy policies and terms. Tzedakah Shelf does not need your full payment-card information in order to maintain the virtual tzedakah-box experience.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that help us operate, secure, host, analyze, or maintain the app; with a charity or donation provider when necessary to complete an action you request; when required by law or a valid legal process; or when necessary to protect users, the public, or our services.
Data storage, security, and retention
Some app information may be stored locally on your device, while certain operational, analytics, or service data may be processed by service providers used to operate the app. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, or enforce agreements.
Your choices and deletion
You may be able to edit or remove locally stored app information through the app itself. Removing the app or clearing its local storage can remove information stored only on your device. If you want to ask about information held by us, request correction or deletion where applicable, or make another privacy inquiry, contact us using the information below.
Children
Tzedakah Shelf is intended as a general-audience giving tool. We do not knowingly use the app to solicit personal information from children. If we learn that information requiring parental consent was collected from a child without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Third-party services
The app may contain links to charities, donation processors, websites, or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to review those policies when leaving Tzedakah Shelf.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Tzedakah Shelf changes. When we do, we will update the date shown at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated within the app or by another appropriate method.
